2-minute madness: The Art of Doing


2-minute madnessWell I am neither an Achiever to speak authoritatively on the subject nor have got a survey to back my claim. What I want to tell you is from my own limited experience and realizations over time.

We all have our mental blocks when it comes to getting things done; especially when they are out of our routine. From calling-that-friend-you-have-been-planning-to for long to the early-morning-sunday-jog to starting-that-awesome-website. We pass days ignoring the would’ve beens pursuing the should be’s. Life goes on.

To quote Khaled Hossini from The Mountains Echoed “I suspect the truth is that we are waiting, all of us, against insurmountable odds, for something extraordinary to happen to us.”

It is hard. Taking that first step. When you know the journey is going to be long and the results uncertain. But you have to do it. Not because you don’t have any other choice. Not because somebody said so. But because that will make a difference. You just need to believe this for 2 minutes you are onto the task. Blocking your mind to any other thoughts. And it should.

You must have done this at-least once in your life. Your first speech in-front of a packed audience, the first fall from your bicycle, you first date or the first time you stood up-to someone. It was all pure madness. And I am sure you ended up being better from it. What is needed of is for you to commit to this craziness for 2-minutes and I am sure the world will be a better place for us all.
